Meet Katie
Hi, I’m Katie — the founder of Velvet Strength.
I’m a yoga teacher, personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, strength and conditioning coach, and nutrition coach with a passion for helping women feel empowered in their bodies again.
But my journey into coaching didn’t start because fitness always came easily to me.
For years, I worked out consistently, stayed active, and tried to eat “healthy,” yet my body still felt off. I struggled with weight gain that didn’t make sense, low energy, frustration, and feeling disconnected from my body despite doing “everything right.”
Eventually, I discovered I was dealing with insulin resistance and low-grade PCOS.
That experience completely changed the way I viewed health, fitness, and wellness.
Instead of chasing restriction, punishment, or obsessing over the scale, I began learning how to properly fuel my body, strength train intentionally, support my hormones, prioritize recovery, and create sustainable habits that actually worked long term.
And everything changed.
